Sets the goal diameter of the sub-domains in local wavelength scales. The actual partitioning is performed on the mesh level, so that this parameter is only a hint for the partioning algorithm. In general it is recommended to use a value larger than 4 (local wavelength) and preferably as large as possible so that the sub-problems are still feasible for the available computer resources. Ideally the constructed sub-domain have the volume (in local wavelength scales) to achieve a good balancing of the sizes of the sub-problems.
