This parameter controls the polynomial degree of the dependency of the RotationAngle parameter between two value set a subsequent interfaces. The sign of the Degree controls the orientation of the monomial meaning the curve parameter of the monomial is increasing from the lower to the upper value for positive degrees and decreasing for negative degrees.
