The exponent $n$ controls the shape of the superellipse. $n=2$ leads to the standard ellipse. For $n>=1$ convex curves and concave curves are a result of exponents $n<1$ .

Note

Extremely small exponents ( $n<.5$ ) require extremely fine discretizations at the tips of the four arms. This leads to long meshing and possibly computation times.
