In the domain decomposition solver, each sub-domain is equipped with a PML layer to implement the transparent boundary condition between adjacent sub-domains. Use this parameter to limit the number of discretization points within the extra layers at the interfaces of two adjacent sub-domains in order to reduce the size of the sub-problem. This will help to restrict the memory consumption. Using too few PML points may affect the convergence.
